Description

This special gun book and gun video set contains the latest (5th) edition of Jerry Kuhnhausen’s bestselling The S&W Revolvers shop manual plus his hour long (circa) training DVD which adds a ‘visual chapter’ to the book.

THE BOOK

The S&W Revolvers: a Shop Manual, New Expanded 5th Edition by Jerry Kuhnhausen is the only gun book that covers in detail the traditional pre-war/post-war S&W hand-ejector models, and basically traditional S&W numbered models made through 1996.

Also includes data on the non-traditional, post-1997 MIM (powdered metal component) S&W revolver models.

The new edition features an abundance of new digital photos, principle and sectional illustrations, instructional drawings, as well as information on pre-war, post-war, and numbered model S&W revolversmithing.

Covers all the common problems from cracked frames to poor timing and excess endshake. Tells you how to do custom work like adding a crane locking ball and even goes through polishing and rebluing. The book includes step-by-step disassembly instructions, complete with information on how to identify damage. The book also discusses post-1997 MIM (metal injection molded) parts.s.

The step-by-step instructions cover troubleshooting & problem solving; parts inspection; parts fitting and replacement; barrel replacement; complete repair, and tuning.

THE DVD

Gunsmithing the S&W J, K, L, & N Frame Revolvers was edited from gunsmith training course materials and was originally available only as a companion video for the Jerry Kuhnhausen The S&W Revolvers: a Shop Manual

Although this DVD is still suggested for that purpose, because it adds extra chapters to its corresponding manual, the video stands by itself and provides additional practical gunsmithing information.

Run time is approximately 1 hour.
