THE STEAM DONKEY ENGINE
0This great engine was used as “Work Horses” of the woods. A cable or lead line could be pulled in by the capstan but then the heavy cable had to be hauled back into the woods by a horse.
Dalbeer added a small haul back drum and the horse was no longer required for the haul back operation. Many donkey engines were fitted to a pile driver frame and then driving foundation piles.
The finished model will not only provide a fascinating steam donkey engine of historical significance, it will also supply a source of steam for operating a variety of stationary steam engine and accessories.
Fully illustrated with diagrams. 54 pgs. Softcover.
